Be The Right Model

Time for Photography (TFP)

First and foremost: Remember that MOST photographers are in this business to make money. So, when asking for a TFP session with a photographer, realize that he or she needs to get something out of the session as well.

You also need to determine what your goal is for arranging a TFP shoot. Are you modeling for fun? Or do you want photos for your portfolio that will get you work later? In the later case, you don't necessarily want photos that YOU like, but photos that will get you work.

In either case, it is preferable to find a photographer whose work you like and is in the specialty area you are looking to work in. In other words, if you want to do Bikini modeling, look for someone who has experience working with Bikini modeling. However if you are doing a TFP session, that besides doing whatever type of photography YOU want, the photographer may want to do something in a different styles as well. So, you and the photographer should agree on clothing, type of shoot, length of shoot, and the number, size and type of prints you should receive from the shoot. Make sure you both come to this agreement BEFORE the shoot begins and is formalized on paper and don't be afraid to be VERY upfront about your limitations.
